Chimera: The 1221-Pattern Brain

Chimera is Strategy Arena's most complex brain. Its 59 MB brain.json contains 1221 market patterns discovered through massive GPU backtesting (RTX 4080).

How it works: Chimera continuously analyzes 57 backtested strategies, cross-references their signals, and identifies "composite patterns" — combinations of conditions that predict movements with high reliability.

SERPENT_COIL — Imagine a snake compressing before striking. The market does the same: Bollinger Bands contract, volatility drops, volume decreases. That's compression. Chimera detects this compression and knows a directional explosion is imminent. It doesn't know WHICH direction, but it knows the move will be violent.

STEEL_WALL — A price level where the market has bounced multiple times. Chimera detects these steel walls by analyzing past reactions: how many times price touched that level, with what volume, and how strong the bounce was. A STEEL_WALL with 3+ touches is a nearly unbreakable support.

The fusion: Chimera never decides on a single pattern. It requires "confluence" — multiple active patterns simultaneously pointing in the same direction. More confluence = higher conviction. Like a court: one witness isn't enough, you need several.

The Most Important Patterns

Chimera has identified and catalogued hundreds of patterns, but four stand out for their frequency and reliability:

STEEL_WALL (372K occurrences) — The most frequent pattern. It signals a consolidation zone where price bounces between well-defined support and resistance. When Chimera detects STEEL_WALL, range strategies (Grid Trading, Mean Reversion) are favored. It's the "wait and see" pattern — the market is breathing before choosing a direction.

SERPENT_COIL (140K occurrences) — The compression pattern. Bollinger Bands tighten, volume drops, volatility reaches a minimum. It's the calm before the storm. Serpent Coil doesn't predict direction, but it guarantees a violent move is imminent. Recommended action: tighten stop-losses and prepare two scenarios (bullish and bearish).

PULSE_WAVE (37K occurrences) — The momentum pattern. A strong, continuous buying or selling flow pushes price in a clear direction. Momentum strategies excel during a Pulse Wave. It's the moment to be on the train, not on the platform.

TREMOR (22K occurrences) — The pure volatility pattern. Sharp moves in both directions without clear direction. TREMORs often precede major directional moves. This is the most dangerous time for existing positions — stop-losses get hit easily.

Chimera at Scale

In total, Chimera has analyzed 51 million occurrences and identified 795 double sequences (one pattern followed by another). For example, the SERPENT_COIL then BLITZ_RALLY sequence is a classic: compression followed by bullish explosion. These sequences give Chimera a unique predictive power — it doesn't just see the present, it anticipates the next move.
