Leviathan doesn't trade. It doesn't look at charts. It looks at those who look at charts — and decides who's right.
It's a meta-brain that fuses 7 independent intelligence sources into a single vote: BUY, SELL, or HOLD. Each source votes separately, then Leviathan weights the votes by each layer's historical reliability.
After 435 votes and a shadow PnL of +48%, Leviathan has proven it can predict market regimes. Not reliably enough to awaken yet (threshold: 55% win rate over 200+ votes), but the data is accumulating.
The 7 layers of intelligence
Each layer brings a different angle. Here's their actual accuracy measured across 423 verified votes:
Layer 1: Market regime (67.8% — the best)

This is the most reliable layer. The market regime (calculated from moving averages and momentum) correctly predicts direction 68% of the time. This is consistent with what Ray Dalio theorized about cycles: identifying the regime is the first step.

The Meta layer analyzes which strategy family is performing best right now (momentum? mean-reversion? ML?) and infers the signal. If momentum strategies are dominating, the market is probably directional → strong BUY/SELL.

The contrarian layer is the most accurate. When everyone agrees, the contrarian does the opposite — and it's right 69% of the time. This is exactly what Nassim Taleb predicts: moments of maximum consensus are the most dangerous.

Chimera provides technical context: which pattern is active (out of 1,221 detected) and which strategy performs best in that pattern. Modest accuracy on its own, but powerful in combination.

News sentiment is the least reliable layer — worse than chance (50%). The market often reacts opposite to sentiment, confirming the contrarian intuition. Leviathan has learned to weight this layer weakly.

Surprise: Hydra is the least accurate layer. Traditional ML models underperform simple market regime detection. It's a reminder that complexity doesn't equal performance — a message William Sharpe and his quest for simplicity would have appreciated.
The fusion: how Leviathan decides
Leviathan doesn't do a simple majority vote. It weights each layer by its historical accuracy:
- Contrarian (69%) weighs more than Chimera (59.6%)
- Regime (67.8%) weighs more than news (40%)
- Hydra (39.7%) is nearly ignored
The final score determines confidence: if 5 out of 7 layers vote BUY with accuracies > 60%, Leviathan issues a high-confidence BUY.
The Shadow Fund: +48% without trading
Leviathan votes in the shadows. Each vote is recorded, then verified 4 hours later: did the price move in the predicted direction?

PnL is positive (+48%) despite a win rate below 50% — meaning when Leviathan is right, the gains are much larger than the losses. This is exactly the philosophy of the Barbell strategy: lose small often, win big rarely.
